Uzbekistan Shopping tips on how best to shop and what to buy whilst on your trip to Uzbekistan.
 
Everything in Uzbekistan is negotiable. Shopping, buying and selling, they’re all games. The seller plays and the buyer plays. Bargain with a smile and you will be rewarded. Expect to pay from 10-40% less than the original asking price – depending on your bargaining skills and the will of the vendor.
 
The best place to experience Uzbekistan is in the bazaars. The bazaars of Tashkent, Samarkand and Bukhara offer goods ranging from herbs and spices to Bukhara carpets. Silk is still produced in the country and well-priced silks can be bought at large department stores.
 
Heavenly fruits. No matter what the season, fabulous fruit is always available in Farmers markets in Uzbekistan.  Cherries, apricots, greengages and peaches in early summer, figs, grapes, pears, pomegranates and apples as summer progresses and then, in autumn, melons of every shape, size and variety fill the place and scent the air.
 
Clothes and more. Big cities have large department stores and shopping malls where you’ll find the city’s finest fashion stores, global brands, book shops, specialty stores, accessories stands and all kinds of luxury designer lifestyle goods.
